THE MOST REMARKABLE JOURNEY OF MISTER BAERELI
THE MOST REMARKABLE JOURNEY OF MISTER BAERELI
Baereli was an absent-minded personality who took birth in a clan of
the mountain dwarfs. Locked high up in their remote Alps,
the dwarfs prided themselves on their exceptionalism and there were not
many signs that they were becoming more like other races. They were meticulously
hardworking and reliable as clockwork. Mostly they nourished a stable
passion for their possessions and spent a lot of time cleaning their houses,
washing the streets of the dwarf city, especially on rainy days, or cutting
the lawn of their lovely gardens, sometimes with nail scissors.
Baereli’s clan was rough and tough. They liked a good fight, enjoyed
white wine and singing around fires lit up high in the mountains in the
middle of the night. Like the rest of his kin, he loved wandering in the
forests, climbing ancestral rocks and resting on top of the high peaks.
His folk were slow to welcome foreigners and quietly disliked whatever
was unknown. One day, Baereli decided that the whole thing did not make
sense. He packed his pipe and a few belongings, went down into the valley
and started a big journey to find the end of the world.
Years later and very far from home, he was still attracted to the lofty
summits; he reached the highest mountainous region of this world and,
one day, tired of wandering, he put his tent on the top of a ridge.
