In Kyoto's Ryohani Temple
|
The Zen Rock Garden laid out by Soami (Swami?) in the 16th century.
Offers its fifteen rocks on white gravel. Perhaps waiting for
one more to be complete. It looks like a smiling joke from the
swami for all those who would wonder what it means. But it gives
a smiling peace.
In the lobby of the Keihan hotel, a beautiful Yamaha piano sends
forth ample notes to fill the space. It plays by itself, connected
to an electronic sort of a recorder. The Japanese are very organised:
they have eliminated the pianist.
